Group Therapy: Amber’s Dilemma
Listen to Amber’s story, then send in your advice.
Back in March, Amber met a guy online. They dated for about 2 months, but due to her long work hours and the distance, they only saw each other once or twice a week. After around 7 dates, Amber realized she wasn’t that into him and planned to break things off. Tragically, before she could, he was hit by a car and killed. His family thinks they were serious, with his mom saying he loved her. Feeling guilty, Amber attended a family gathering in his honor and now his mom constantly calls her for emotional support. They want her to spend the 4th of July weekend at their beach house, but Amber is exhausted. How can she respectfully distance herself from his family without causing more pain?
