Thankfully, new research published in the journal Nature Mental Health just made a huge advancement toward early detection. New surgical robots are able to imitate skilled surgeons by watching videos of the procedures. In fact, the machines are able to predict the next correct motion and do things that they were never taught. Researchers believe this is propelling the medical field into a new era of robotic autonomy. The paper is a focus of the 2024 conference on robot learning in Munich, Germany.
